A Bird Has Broken The Window: What Do I Do?

May 14, 2022 by collegetown

“We were sitting in the kitchen, just having a nice cup of coffee, when all of a sudden SMASH!” Regina waved her arms up in the air, indicating the power of the impact. “I don’t even know what this bird was thinking, but all of a sudden there was broken glass everywhere. All over the kitchen!”

While Regina’s husband Gerald took care of the wounded bird – a local wildlife rehabber was able to step in with guidance for next steps – Regina said “I didn’t know what to do.” Concerned that her cat Brutus would hop out of the broken window, she blocked the space off as best she could with a cardboard box. Then she started picking up the broken glass. “Cut my finger,” she said with a laugh. “Let this be a lesson to you: wear gloves!”

Next step: Window Glass Replacement

Because the bird had flown through Regina’s window without damaging the window frame, window sill, or any of the surrounding structure, she was able to call her local commercial glass company for window glass replacement.

“This is great news,” Regina explained, “because the glass is the most affordable part of the window!” The best East Bridgewater commercial glass company is able to provide same-day service for many common window glass types. In Regina’s case, they came to the home, did the necessary measurements, and promptly returned to replace the window glass.

“All the years we’ve lived in this house, we’ve never had anything like that happen,” Regina said. “But it was such an easy and simple process to have our window glass replaced.”

To recap: if a bird has broken the window in your home, and it doesn’t look like the window frame or sill has been damaged, get in touch with your local commercial glass company for window glass replacement.
