“I never really managed a home renovation project before this,” Marti said. “But it’s a small bathroom we’re upgrading and I thought how difficult could it be?” Marti’s Raynham home was built in the 1970’s, a time when master bathroom suite styles were a little lacking. “I wanted to create a space with clean, simple modern lines,” she said. “Little did I know that things that look simple are often very expensive.”
Case in point, the shower unit Marti found on Pinterest and desperately wanted for the new bathroom. “Well, I did all kinds of shopping, and to get that exact unit was impossible. The shower unit that came closest in appearance was incredibly expensive, but I was going to go for it anyway – until I realized that supply chain issues meant I might not have the shower unit in time for the rest of the renovation to happen on schedule.”
Marti was about to give up on her second choice and go with a more ordinary shower unit when a trusted friend gave her some advice. “She said if you want a one of a kind shower, go to the glass replacement service in Raynham. They custom create all kinds of things out of glass, including some really gorgeous shower units.”
Not at all confident that this strategy would work, Marti said, “I gathered up my drawings and specifications and pictures and went down to the shop. They were really friendly and when I said “How much would it cost to make and install this shower unit?” they took the time to create a quote for me that was less than half of what I was going to have to pay going through a designer’s showroom.” Best of all, because the commercial glass company was so local to Marti’s Raynham home, she didn’t have to wait a long time for her new shower unit. “I saved money, got a truly one of a kind shower unit, and got my project done on time. What could be better than that?”
