“My Grandmother had this little elephant table in her front room for the longest time, and I always loved it,” Brynne said. The table in question has a small elephant standing on its hind legs, head and trunk carefully positioned to support a round glass top. “But after she passed, my aunt mailed the table to me and the glass table top was broken – now what do I do?”
Glass table tops are a popular home decor choice. They’re beautiful and attractive. Glass table tops include glass that is inside a frame, as well as frameless glass table tops, such as we see in Brynne’s elephant table situation. There’s also glass table tops that are cut to precisely match the shape of a wooden table top, where they’re placed to protect the tabletop beneath from scratches and water damage.
Replacement Table Top Glass: What Are Your Options
“My first thought is I’d try to reach out to the company that made the table and see if they could help me with a replacement glass table top,” Brynne said. “I found a manufacturer’s name on the bottom of the table, but when I looked that company up online I didn’t find any helpful information.”
“So I went to the craft store, but they didn’t have what I needed at all. That’s where one of the ladies who worked there said “You need to go to a commercial glass company and tell them you need a tabletop.”
“I’d never heard of a commercial glass company, but I looked online and found a glass service near me,” Brynne said. “I told them what I needed, they asked me about measurements, and my table top was ready literally the next day. It couldn’t have been easier, and I am thrilled to have Grandma’s table in a place of honor in my home.”
